Mushroom Mornay Pie (Vegetarian)
You don't need to be vegetarian to enjoy the Mushroom Mornay. Mornay is a rich and creamy French style milk-based sauce with provolone cheese. Heavy on the mushrooms as they are minced, the soft cubed potatoes are added to give another form of texture. As usual, the filling is encased in a buttery but light crust.
Flour, Butter, Sugar, Salt, Mushrooms, Potatoes, Peas, Carrots, Milk, Provolone Cheese, Black Pepper, Nutmeg
- Optional: Egg wash the frozen pie.
- While frozen, bake at 425F for 20 minutes.
- Turn the temperature down to 350F and bake for another 60 minutes or until it's golden brown.
- Let the pie cool for about 45 minutes or until it's warm at the bottom of the plate. Enjoy!
